Permissions (Access Control List)

GeoContent Plus uses the new Joomla! ACL system to configure which user levels can access to GeoContent Layers and perform certain actions (like front-end editing or unbound items).

The permissions are mostly self-explanatory, a few more words about the more obscure options follows.

Warning

There are some incompatibilities between the options listed below.

There is a potential conflict between Unbound items and Unlinked items: if Unbound items is not allowed Unlinked items will be ignored. There is a potential conflict between Unbound items Unlinked items and Custom URL: if Unbound items is allowed and both Unlinked items and Custom URL are denied, it will not be possible to specify an unbound item.

Custom URL

If not allowed, the hyperlink in the ballons will be automatically generated from the bound (linked) articles (if any).

Warning

Allowing untrusted users to enter custom URLs can become an entry point for spamming.

Unbound items

If allowed, the creation of GeoContent Items which are not bound (linked) to Joomla! articles will be possible.

Unlinked items

If allowed, the creation of GeoContent Items wich are not bound to Joomla! articles and do not provide a custom URL will be possible.
