Permissions (Access Control List)
=================================

|GC| uses the new |J| ACL system to configure which user levels can access to |GCLs| and perform certain actions (like  front-end editing or unbound items).

The permissions are mostly self-explanatory, a few more words about the more obscure options follows.

    There are some incompatibilities between the options listed below.

    There is a potential conflict between :ref:`unbound_items` and :ref:`unlinked_items`: if :ref:`unbound_items` is not allowed :ref:`unlinked_items` will be ignored.
    There is a potential conflict between :ref:`unbound_items`  :ref:`unlinked_items` and :ref:`custom_url`: if :ref:`unbound_items` is allowed and both :ref:`unlinked_items` and :ref:`custom_url` are denied, it will not be possible to specify an unbound item.

If not allowed, the hyperlink in the ballons will be automatically generated from the bound (linked) articles (if any).

    Allowing untrusted users to enter custom URLs can become an entry point for spamming.

If allowed, the creation of |GCIs| which are not bound (linked) to |J| articles will be possible.
