    Hi,

    I’m working on a martial arts website. Can you please just verify that this SACL will work for my needs.

    My site is a Fresh install of Joomla 1.5.8

    I want to limit access to the user as such:

    There will be a public front end
    And then registered.

    The school material will be divided by rank: (white belt, yellow belt, … black belt, and so forth)

    I want to restrict access so that a white belt student can only see white belt, but a higher belt student such as black belt can see his rank plus everything below that too.

    Is this possible with SACL? I understand that there are no group permissions. Does that mean that I have to manually set permission to each user? That’s not a problem as we are a relatively small school with an average of 50 members at one time.

    However can assign access to multiple areas per user?

    Also, please clarify that this SACL will allow for me to give these users only Read permission, no editing.

    If you could just clarify these things I am ready to donate.

    Thank you,
    Cris

    @Cris

    Yes, it is possible, but you will need to create one single ACL for each single section/user combination.

    So, for example each black belt user will need a set of (distinct) ACLs for each belt (section) he has access to (white, yellow, orange, green, blue, brown and black).
